♥ Australis Velourlips Review & Swatches ♥

Hey guys! :+)

I was at Causeway Point and there was a Laycy/Watson sale at the atrium, selling a wide range of products and brands inclusing Nyx, BeautyUK, Australis and BH cosmetics and more! Most of the products are Buy 3 Get 1 Free and the sales ends this Sunday so do go get your hand on these goodies! I got four items - a BeautyUK baked blush/highlighter in Halo and these 3 Australis Velourlips.

WHAT IS IT?

Liquid lipsticks are all the rage right now! These are highly pigmented - full coverage upon first application. The ones that I picked up are Shang-Hi!, Bar-tha-lona and Buda-pash as I wanted to try something out of my comfort zone. Each a different shade and undertone to the other. All the shades are named after capital cities and they're spelled the way you would say it (how cute!). There are 15 shades currently available but Australis are releasing 5 new shades soon - including a black!

Highly pigmented lips are the look of the moment, and this lip cream takes it to the next level with its beautiful matte finish! The creamy long-wear formula glides on easily with its doe foot applicator, finishing to a velvety matte look with intense, full coverage colour payoff. Perfect for when you want lasting, matte colour that moves with your lips without flaking.

MY THOUGHTSI am a little on the fence about this product, the colours are beau-ti-ful but I dislike the way they look on my lips. It accentuates the dryness too much - and I don't really have dry lips either.

♥ Price
- Affordable, each retails for S$12.90 (Buy 3 Get 1 sale until 13/9/15)
- Get them at Watson's sales and Laycy's website

♥ Colours
- 15 colours available, 5 more released soon!
A wide range of colours from nudes, pinks, reds, vampy and oranges!

♥ Application
- Full coverage upon first application
- There is a sweet candy smell - like Grapes and Strawberry Nerds!
- Doe foot applicator; bit tricky to apply especially for dark colours
- Very, very matte and drying. It emphasizes dryness like no other and it puts me off to be honest

♥ Wear test
- It wears for about 3 hours before it starts piling into little balls and flaking. Not cute.
- Does transfer when eating and drinking - not as much as compared to wearing normal lipsticks.
- Leaves a stain
- Use makeup wipe for removal

SWATCHES GALORE
Shang-Hi!
Shang-Hi! is a vivid pinky-purple magenta. I don't own any lippie this colour and I do like this colour on me! Its wearable and bright enough that it's not too "in your face". Definitely try this colour out if you want to try out purples. :)

Bar-tha-lona
Bar-tha-lona is a bright orangey red. I don't own anything of this colour either but I find this flattering on my skin tone too. This is a summery colour and such a great choice for Chinese New Year (I am so going to wear this for next year's CNY)

Buda-pash
This is one shade that I would gravitate towards (I love dark, vampy colours). There is another colour that is similar to this and it's Doo-bai - a dark cherry red, very similar to Wet n Wild's Cherry Bomb. Buda-pash is a dark red with brown undertones. Who says you can't wear dark lipsticks all the time? ;)

Have you bought it or tried it? Do leave your thoughts down below! I would love to see what you guys think.
